Aggression at the veterinarian office

Aggression at the veterinarian office

Very few pets enjoy the veterinarian office.  We are never surprised when your pet hisses, growls, nips, urinates or poops in the office.  This is nothing more than fear.

  • Sometimes we need to muzzle your pet or add an extra restraint leash.  We may ask you for permission to administer some sedation or make an appointment for another time to do other things with your pet.
  • Please know that when we approach cautiously, this is why.  Even though your pet is fabulously friendly at home, at our office they can exhibit never before seen behavior.  This is normal.
  • We enjoy friendly visits to our office anytime.  Feel free to drop in for a weight check and lots of love and treats.  Especially if your pet doesn’t do well on car rides or only associates the car with going to the vet, this can let them know it is not always associated with a shot.
  • Many drive thru’s offer pup cups for your furry friend.  This can be a great way to associate the vehicle ride with happiness!
