First Aid tip & emergencies with your pet
Many people believe their veterinarian should handle all their pets needs at all hours of the day or night. At VIP Animal Care we make every effort to take care of your pets illness and well visits.
But…we may at times need to refer you to a specialist or emergency medicine for those times we are not equipped to handle your pet’s emergency. Just as your family doctor would tell you to go on to the emergency room or a specialist, we may have to do the same.
**Always remember that first aid you administer to your pet at home should be followed up by immediate veterinary care. First aid is not a substitute for veterinary care but is beneficial until veterinary care can be obtained. These are critical for dog fights, open wounds, and frostbite.
