Many of our pet owners have cats that they classify as indoor and outdoor. Because kitties like to adventure outside, dangers can be more numerous.
The most common problem this time of year we deal with is a cat bite wound. Cats are predators and very territorial. Since it is still breeding time for cats, that means more “love fights”.
It is important you bring your kitty in after this happens, because the wound needs to be cleaned and antibiotics administered to keep infection at bay.
Don’t be alarmed because most of these wounds are around the neck. This is a usual spot that felines attack each other at. As long as your feline gets treatment, they will be fine.
I have one barn cat, that gets a trip in once or twice a year due to this problem.
