Help: My other pets are grieving over the death of another pet
Many households today are multiple pet households. That can be 2-3 canines or a combination of felines and canines. Thanks to media, most people think their pets are unusual in that dogs and cats can be good friends living in the same household. So you may think your pets are odd when they grief the loss of another pet. This is perfectly normal. Here are few tips to help:
- Depression for a time is normal. More than a few weeks, give us a call.
- Loss of appetite is normal for a time; just keep offering food at normal feeding times.
- Try to engage your pet in normal routine play.
- Keep routine as normal as possible.
- Don’t get rid of the other pet’s blankets, toys etc right away.
