Pet Obesity is on the rise!

More than 50% of cats and dogs in the US are overweight or obese!

Arthritis, the most common disease of overweight dogs, was responsible for 49,000 pet insurance claims in 2015 from Nationwide pet insurance.

More than 5000 claims were for felines with bladder or urinary tract disease, which is also obesity related.

Obesity related problems in dogs include:  arthritis, liver disease, low thyroid, bladder/urinary tract infections, torn ligaments, heart failure, fatty growth, kidney disease, diabetes and spinal issues.

In cats, problems caused are gallbladder disorder, high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, liver disease, heart failure, spinal issues, kidney disease, bladder/urinary tract disease.
