What’s involved with PRP Therapy?
If PRP therapy is right for your pet, Dr. Flanders or Dr. Motto can perform the procedure during a day drop-off office visit. A small amount of blood is taken from your pet and is processed using a specialized system that concentrates the platelets and the plasma. Once the PRP processing is complete, it is injected directly into the area of injury.
Why PRP?
PRP is unique in many ways. By choosing this treatment, we are helping to keep your pet comfortable and active. PRP not only targets the area that is painful-it also actively heals any damaged tissue in the area, as well as helping to improve joint health. Unlike traditional systemic medication that works by using the blood stream to circulate around the body, PRP is injected into the specific source of the pain, providing a much more targeted treatment.
Benefits of PRP for Your Pet

Your pet’s response to PRP therapy may vary. Most veterinarians have noted that pets with moderate to severe osteoarthritis will show marked improvement for more than a year with one treatment. Dr. Flanders or Dr. Motto will recommend what they believe will be best for your pet’s rehabilitation and follow-up.
